Holiday Happenings - Level 3 Hostess Set

Here's another sneak peek of one of the new Level 3 Hostess Sets.  You get a stamp set, rub-ons in Chocolate Chip and White, and coordinating Designer Series Paper.  I mixed Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip again - I love it.  But, the Pink Pirouette isn't showing up very well in this picture.

So, here's my theory - notice that the flowers in the DSP coordinate perfectly with the little flowers from the Three For You Punch Box.  Wanna bet that punch is going to stick around for awhile?  The punch box comes with this year's In-Colors...so....I bet the box retires but the punch stays.  That's my guess.  I added a little white dot in the middle of each of the punched flowers with my White Gel Pen so they coordinate perfectly with the DSP.  The sentiment is one of the rub-ons in Chocolate Chip.  Oh, and can I tell you how sad I am that coordinating ribbon wasn't art of the preview???  You're gonna be seeing a lot of Chocolate Chip ribbon until August!!!

Here are the supplies I used to make this card:Holiday Happenings

  • Holiday Happenings DSP
  • Seasonal Sayings Rub-Ons
  • Three For You Flower Punch
  • Pink Pirouette Card Stock
  • Chocolate Chip Card Stock
  • Whisper White Card Stock
  • Baja Breeze Card Stock
  • Chocolate Chip Wide Grosgrain Ribbon

In Memory Of...Summer Picnic

Page Even though the Mini Catalog is gone, I thought I'd tease you with just one more sample.  I took pictures of it last week, but didn't get a chance to post until now.  I designed this cute 6x6 page for a workshop last week.  It uses my new, favorite stamp set - Short and Sweet!  Mix that with some Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper, and you get one cute page!  The pattern in the DSP inspired the circular accents I made with the 3/4 inch punch and 1 inch punch.  Enjoy!

In Color Independence Day

Happy 4th of July!  I made this card last night as an experiment.  I was determined to make a scallop frame out of the new scallop border punch.  It works!  It works!  This was my first attempt.  The final corner was a little "off" but a sentiment covers up the "off-ness"!  I also wanted to use some more of the new In-Colors - what do you think of Riding Hood Red and Pacific Point.  I like them together - very patriotic!  Granted, normally I would have used Real Red and Brilliant Blue.

Here are the supplies I used to make this card:Independence Day

  • Independence Day Stamp Set
  • Pacific Point Card Stock
  • Riding Hood Red Card Stock
  • Whisper White Card Stock
  • Pacific Point Classic Ink
  • Riding Hood Red Classic Ink
  • White Gel Pen
  • Scallop Edge Punch
  • 3/4 Inch Square Punch

Pun Fun

Bird Day I've seen so many cute cards made with this stamp set, I just had to buy it for myself.  I think the Jersey Shore and East Coast Prep DSP collections are going to be my new best friends now that Summer Picnic is gone.  I covered the cute little bird with Crystal Effects to add a little interest.  I used a white gel pen to make the faux stitching on the buttons.

Introducing....Sock Monkey

Sock Monkey Tonight was an exciting night!  Julie and Kelly came over and cleaned my Craft Room.  It was AMAZING to see what three people can do in 2 hours!  If you've been to an event at my house in the past few months, you may have peeked inside the closed door.  I could certainly win a contest for the most unusable craft room.  Wonder where I put 19 boxes of Stampin' Up! supplies?  It was in my Craft Room.  However, I have to admit, while we were cleaning, I was thinking about one thing....Sock Monkey.  I couldn't wait to use my new stamp set.

Several months ago, Mike, my boyfriend, purchased a cute monkey online for me.  He's actually designed to fly across the room and scream when he hits a wall!  Well, he's sort of become my classroom mascot.  And now we have a stamp set designed just for him!!!  So, naturally, he was the insipration for this first card.

If you love Pretty in Pink mixed with Chocolate Chip, let me tell you....you're gonna LOVE Pink Pirouette with Chocolate Chip....it's kind of like what Soft Sky did to Chocolate Chip only in girly colors!  I tried to combine as many new items on this cards - Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, Scallop Edge Punch, Pink Pirouette, and Kiwi Kiss!  Even Mike thought it was cute when I showed it to him!

Here are the supplies I used to make this card:

  • Sock Monkey Stamp SetMonkey
  • Bella Rose Designer Series Paper
  • Basic Brown Classic Ink
  • Close to Cocoa Classic Ink
  • Blush Blossom Classic Ink
  • Pink Pirouette Classic Ink
  • Very Vanilla Card Stock
  • Pink Pirouette Card Stock
  • Chocolate Chip Card Stock
  • Kiwi Kiss Card Stock
  • Chocolate Chip Wide Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Scallop Edge Punch

And, I knew you'd enjoy seeing the before and after pictures of my craft room!!!  Isn't it impressive?!?!?  Where did all of the stuff go?  Well, it's neatly organized in my classroom - my "homework" is to slowly find homes for all of it!

Before After

LOVIN' IT!!!

Preview Check out what was waiting for me when I got home from work today...that's right....preview stuff from the new Fall/Winter Idea Book and Catalog!!!  And, this isn't even all of it....you should see the cute buttons!!!  The rub-ons are fabulous, but you need to host a Level 3 Qualifying workshop to earn it!!!!  So, BOOK NOW to lock in your date!  You're gonna want these products!  And, I can get stamping in no time since all of the sets are DIE CUT!!!  Can you feel the excitement???

Bronc

Bronc I stamped this card last Friday while stamping and scrapping with my sister-in-law, Brooke.  She's just getting into this hobby.  We had lots of fun.  I managed to get two cards made.  Check back tomorrow for the second.  I just received this stamp set in the mail last week.  I'm lovin' it.

The Rumors are TRUE

Punch WOWSERS!!!  I LOVE being a demonstrator!  Why?  Because I get to see and order all of the new stuff first.  So, let me be the first to tell you - the rumors are TRUE!!!  All new stamp sets will be DIE CUT!!!  There IS a new scallop edge punch.

I love the new In-Colors!  I can't wait to get my hands on them - they'll be arriving this week, so stay tuned for lots of samples!!!!

The stamp sets are fabulous.  We've only seen a teeny tiny sampling (four) and the hostess sets, but I love them all - especially SOCK MONKEY!!!  And, if you love Wonderful Words (like I do), you'll love Heard from the Heart.

So, I knew I just had to share some of the new stuff with you...you needed a sneak peek too.  But, I promise, stay tuned and you may see some stuff as soon as tomorrow!!!

I've Been Tagged!

Taggraphic Thanks Lisa!  She "Tagged" my blog yesterday.  Tagging is a fun little game we bloggers play which helps others discover the blogs and stampers who inspire us!  A little about Lisa - she a demonstrator who is "related" to me in some way in my big stamping family.  She and I are both taking part in a "business development class" this spring/summer.  I look forward to this class every two weeks because I receive so much inspiration from the other Stampin' Up! demonstrators in the room.  It's fun to hear how everyone runs their business and we're always scrambling to write down ideas or take photos!  I've definitely enjoyed getting to know Lisa - and I love visiting her blog!  She's off to a GREAT start in the blogging world.

So, now onto the rules....I'm supposed to share 7 random/weird facts about myself:

1 - I learned that a shovel should not be used as a pogo stick.  Funny, that's the first thing that comes to mind.  While learning the hard way, I found myself in the emergency room!  I'm now no longer permitted to garden unsupervised!

2 - I was detained overnight by armed guards with 87 other people in the San Salvador International Airport in El Salvador back in March 2004 because the authorities thought that my group of college students and alumni were there to negatively influence their presidential elections - we were there to build a church.

3 - Mushrooms scare me.

4 - I work as a Business Systems Analyst for a large hospital group in my day job.  I manage projects, conduct analysis and reporting on our Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits systems.

5 - I used to be a software implementation consultant who traveled the country and sometimes Europe implementing payroll systems.  I quit my consulting job (without having another one lined up) the day after I returned from the Stampin' Up! Convention in Denver, Colorado so that I could work locally and focus more time on stamping.  I wonder what will happen after convention this year?!?!?!

6 - I prefer cooking with Charcoal over Gas.

7 - I actually maintain 5 different blogs (not all of which are public).  My only other public blog is my personal blog.  So, if you want to learn more random facts about me, check it out.  (Am I allowed to tag myself?  Just kidding.)

Now onto the blogs I'm tagging....this is tough...there are so many out there to choose from.  I'm actually not going to tag any of the Philly Inkers - you can see links to their blogs down on the left-hand side of my screen.  And, I won't offend anyone by not picking them since I can only pick 7.

Kerin:  I've shared Kerin's blog with you before.  She's a very talented demonstrator - I love the projects on her blog.  She's also my convention roommate this year in Salt Lake City.  Say a little prayer for her as she has to put up with me for a week.

Donna:  I'm not sure if I've shared Donna's blog with you or not yet.  Donna is also a convention buddy of mine this year.  She's a demonstrator under Kerin.  She's also very talented and sent me the sweetest convention card a couple of weeks ago - oh, that's right - I probably shared her blog with you then.

Lynn:  I stumbled across Lynn's blog months ago without realizing she's related to me in the stamping world somehow!  And, she's also taking the business development class with Lisa and I.  I haven't met her in person - she's taking the long-distance version.  But, I've been very inspired by her blogging for months.  Enjoy!

Aunt Karen:  Meet Claire's Aunt Karen!  (Claire is my upline.)  Her stamping is AWESOME!  I'm always inspired by her cards and love reading her blog.  Aunt Karen has been a demonstrator for many years and has even served on Stampin' Up!'s Advisory Board.  I look forward to meeting her in person as well at convention this year!

Stasia:  Stasia is another distant relative in my big stamping family!  She was just highlighted in Stampin' Up!'s quarterly On Stage Magazine!  She also was recently published in PaperCrafts Magazine for an entry in one of their World Cardmaking Day contests!  Congrats Stasia!

Jen:  Jen is co-teaching our business development class right now.  She's been an inspiration of mine for quite some time.  Most of my technology tips have come from Jen.  So, if you like my blog, you can thank her!  She gave us some tips and lessons-learned from blogging awhile back at our Winter Gathering and I sucked it up like a sponge and ran with it!  She was also named as one of Stampin' Up!'s top 100 demonstrators of last year.  Congrats Jen!

Claire:  I visit Claire Daly's blog daily!  She doesn't know me.  She is actually one Stampin' Up!'s Australian demonstrators!  She was one of the top 25 demonstrators of the year!  She's extremely talented as well!  I may have to look her up on my next visit to Australia (I've been saving my frequent flier miles).  So I'm tagging across the Pacific on this one!
