I love Wacky Wednesdays!!!  I hold these fun nights once a month.  They're free to attend. Shoebox Swap Cards

Philly Inkers Quarterly Brunch

Yes, I'm still alive.  I didn't get crushed by falling stacks of stamp sets while cleaning my craft room.  I've just been taking a break and catching up on other parts of my life.  However, on Saturday, I caught up with my fellow Philly Inkers for our quarterly downline brunch at Claire's.  After enjoying Claire's fabulous Russian Omlette and other goodies, we broke out the stampin' supplies and had a fun-filled shoebox swap.  Here are a few pictures of the Philly Inkers stampin' up some fun, new samples.  In attendance were Claire, me, Melissa, Melanie, Alison, Tiffany, Denise, and Illina.  Claire's sister, Audra, also joined in the fun doing a MUCH better watercoloring job than I.  I haven't taken pictures of the cards yet, but that'll give me a post for another day!!!  Hope to see you soon.   (Click on the photos to view a larger version.)

That's all I have to say - Thank Goodness it's Friday!  I have a weekend off and can't wait to get into my craftroom, dig it out, and start stamping and scrapbooking again!  I'm itching to make some new things.  I have a stack of wedding photos from Kelly's wedding and my brother's wedding.  I've been playing with them for a few days, but nothing's even assembled.  I sat down and tried to create last night but never even finished a card.  Janis stopped by to stamp for a few minutes with me last night which was fun.  However, my lame attempt at watercoloring never even made it onto a card.  I'm determined to improve that technique.  It's my biggest weakness.  I love the look, but I just don't have the patience!  Anyway, hopefully you'll see something "post worthy" this weekend or next week. 

BUT, I did want to let you know that my Anything But a Card Class next month is filling up FAST!  It's already half full!  There is still plenty of room in Saturday's class, but only one seat remains in Sunday's class.  So, e-mail me or register online!

Stamp-a-Stack Cards

As promised, I'm posting the samples from this past weekend's Stamp-a-Stack.  There was an awesome turnout.  Both days weren't full, they were overbooked.  But, we made room and had tons of fun.  Everyone got to make five of each of the designs seen in this post.  I worked hard to make an assortment of cards that could be used for every occasion.

This first card was my everyday card.  I had a plethora of sentiment sets on the table.  The stamp set featured on this card is Pick a Petal.  It was the first stamp set that caught my eye when the Fall/Winter collection was released.  I've seen tons of adorable cards made using this set.  And, you should think outside the box when it comes to this set.  What else could these petals make?  A butterfly?  Yup, we had some of those this weekend.  A ladybug?  Yup!  I absolutely love this set.  Here are all of the supplies I used to make this sample:

The next card is my feminine card.  A lot of people chose to turn this card into their Mother's Day card - probably because there's a Mother's Day sentiment in the set!!  And, you've seen me do this before, but I love the effect.  I painted the vases with a thin layer of Crystal Effects to give them a glassy look.  Here are the supplies I used to make this sample:

My last card is my masculine card.  I just LOVE this color combination.  Lots of people learned to use the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig - we learned that they either love or or the hate it.  Personally, I do like to use it when stamping a word or other images that need to line up perfectly. Kelly's Cards

Last Thursday Kelly and Julie stopped by to stamp with me.  I'm now calling them my "Design Consultants".  Kelly was inspired by one of the cards we made at the Shoebox Swap back in January.  Again, I can't remember who designed this card, so if it was you, please let me know so that we can give you credit!

The card on the left is in So Saffron and Chocolate Chip.  The card on the right features Basic Black and Rose Red.  The swirly stamps are from the Priceless Stamp Set.  The sentiments are from Sincere Salutations.

She also made an adorable card for a bridal shower this past weekend.  I picked up this new set, Big on Spring, from the Occasions Mini, but haven't had a chance to use it.  Kelly's now inspired me to do something with it! Everyone really loves the combination of Blue Bayou and Soft Sky.  How adorable is this card?!?!?  We picked up the white wide grosgrain ribbon at a local craft store.  I REALLY hope we get White Wide Grosgrain Ribbon!!!

More Easter Cards

I had a workshop on Friday night and my hostess requested Easter Cards.  So, as usual, I thought I'd post a sample of one of the cards I designed for the workshop.  This one was inspired my Claire's Aunt Karen.  Scroll down a few cards on her blog and you'll see my see my inspiration.  To make the flower, I stamped the flower in Versamark Ink and heat embossed using clear embossing powder.  I then used sponge daubers to apply Soft Sky and Blue Bayou Classic Ink on the flower.  I then cut it out and attached it to the card with dimensionals.  Here are the supplies I used to make my card:

Technique Day

Quick and Simple Clipboards

These have been around for awhile, but I finally got around to making one.  I whipped this one together in no time!   Here's how I made this cute gift...

I covered a 4x4 chipboard coaster with a scrap of Berry Bliss Designer Series Paper.  I added a strip of Close to Cocoa paper and a strip of Purely Pomegranate dotted ribbon from the Sherbet Originals ribbon collection.  You may have to click on the picture to enlarge it to see it.  It's kind of hidden behind my water mark.

Next, I took a binder clip and used it to attach a pack of Post-It Notes to the clipboard.  Finally, I decorated the binder clip with some more Berry Bliss Designer Series Paper, Purely Pomegranate Card Stock, and a Build-a-Brad.  I tied some Chocolate Chip Poly Twill Ribbon (Occasions Mini) and Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon.

Anything But a Card

My Stamp-a-Stack is this Saturday and Sunday.  There's only one spot left on Saturday - how fun would it be to completely sell out this set of classes!!!  Nineteen people have already signed up!  It's going to be a lot of fun. 

However, I'm already looking ahead to April and my Anything But a Card class.  Last week I posted a sample of the framed home decor item I made.  I mentioned that you'll have the opportunity to make a similar project in April.  Here are just two of the projects you'll make in this class!  Register Online!

Target Dollar Spot

The Target Dollar Spot is a goldmine of items which you can alter!  I've learned to always take a quick detour and wander through this section of the store every time I stop by.  On my trip to the store last week, I discovered some FABULOUS cork boards for only $1!  I though, with some ribbon and other embellishments, they'd make cute gifts.  Here's what I came up with today!

Here are the supplies I used and setps I followed to make this corkboard:

First, I tacked down the ribbon from the Sherbert Ribbon Originals collection.  I thought the pleated look added a bit more interest than just a simple strip going down the side.  I used Sticky Strip to tack the ribbon to the cork board and to create the pleats.

Second, I pulled out my Felt Flowers in Purely Pomegranate, my Boho Blossoms Punch, and some Rhinestone Brads.  I punched the flowers out of Purely Pomegranate and So Saffron Card Stock.  I used the yellow and pink rhinestone brads to adorn the center of each flower.  I tacked them down using Dimensionals.

Finally, I pulled out some Bali Breeze Designer Series paper and matted it on Whisper White to create a background for my cork board title.  I made the title out of our On Board Lots of Letters Collection.  I covered them with So Saffron Card Stock and cut them using a Hobby Blade.  However, I didn't do a very good job so I disguised any mistakes using my 2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds.  I figured the glitz coordinated with the rhinestone brads.

Open House Make-and-Takes and Gifts

Last night was our Opportuni-Tea Night Open House.  Claire, Alison, and myself were the demonstrators on-hand to answer everyone's questions.  We had a fabulous evening!  I thought I'd share with you the make-and-takes I put together for everyone to make.

The first card uses one of the new sets in the Occassions Mini Catalog.  I think the girls in this set are twiggy.  And, last night we agreed that they all have poor posture, but I still think they're cute!  I inked the entire image in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink then using my index finger wiped the ink off of the cake.  I know, kinda messy, but it does wash off!  I then colored the cake with my Pretty in Pink Marker.  I then thought the cake needed some "icing".  So, I applied some Dazzling Diamonds using my 2-Way Glue Pen.  Here are all of the supplies that I used to make this first card:

The second card was not designed by me.  I want to give the designer credit, but none of us last night could remember who designed it - I am SO sorry.  It was a card that I made at our Shoebox Swap back in January.  I was short on time and on ideas, so I found this one in my card holder and duplicated it since I had the supplies on-hand.  Do you see a theme?  I incorporated Designer Series Paper into each of these cards.  I guess I'm just trying to use it up so that I have room for some new paper.
