When I first saw the catalog, the Button Buddies Stamp Set shot to the top of my wish list! There are just so many cute things you can do with it. It probably also helps that buttons are my second favorite embellishment after ribbon!!!
On this card, I stamped the vase in Old Olive Classic Ink, removed the ink from the flowers using a blender pen, and glued Brights Buttons (Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red) on top. I'm not sure that I really needed to remove the ink from the stamp with the blender pen before stamping, but I was afraid that it would show through.
I also had fun embellishing the vase with Crystal Effects (wow, twice in one week)! It did, however, make the Old Olive bleed a bit so that the pattern on the vase isn't as defined. I also thought I was being tricky by punching two holes on either side of the neck of the vase and looping bakers twine "around" the vase. HOWEVER, when it was done, I realized I could have just used a glue dot and gotten the same effect. Oh well! Bakers twine is also laced through each of the buttons.
The stamped sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set (LOVE THIS SET)! I stamped it in Pumpkin Pie and punched it using the small oval punch. That is layered over the 1" circle punch and then over the middle section of the Triple Layer Doily punch. I like the way the 1" circle and the Doily layer together! Finally, do you recognize the DSP? Would you be surprised if I told you that it's from the Flirtatious Specialty Paper???
