So, if you could hear what I'm thinking, you'd be humming "It's Raining Men" while you're reading this post! I'm on such a high after coming back from convention. I've been stamping up a storm. For example, I think you're reading this on Thursday? Is that right? Well, I'm typing this last Friday! That's how far ahead I am!!! And I have more blog posts floating through my head. Woo Hoo!!! It's SO fun to be enjoying stamping again.
Okay...so....onto today's card. I designed this card for Denise's workshop which was held last Sunday. I was REALLY struggling with this stamp set. We got it for attending convention and it's just not my style - or so I thought! Look out! You're all going to want/need this stamp set soon! You've been warned!
Denise had very specific requests for her workshop - must use purple. CANNOT use butterflies. I have to admit - that was a new one. But, hey, it's her workshop! So, I was thrilled when I came up with this card. The colors are Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade - both brand new incolors! The stamp set is "Raining Flowers". I chose to get this stamp set in wood mount because it is used for two-step stamping. You may be thinking that clear mount would be better. Not in my opinion. Even though the stamps are clear, it's still difficult to line them up perfectly. I prefer to use a Stamp-a-Ma-Jig. AND, since I'll probably always use the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig when using this set, I made permanent imagining sheets using Stazon Ink and window sheets. If you purchase clear mount, they will never line up the same way again. And what happens if your stamp falls off of your clear block mid-way through? You'll never get it lined up. It's best to stick with wood mount if you think you're going to be like me!
I stamped the outline of the focal point in Concord Crush. I then used a marker to color the "filler flower" with Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder. LOVIN' IT! And, of course, there's my new favorite punch layer sentiment - small oval, 1" circle, and the middle portion of the Triple Layer Doily punch. WOO HOO!!! Don't worry, I'll get tired of it soon enough. But, for the time being, you're gonna see it a lot! I stamped more images from the Raining Flowers stamp set in Versamark on the Lucky Limeade card stock to make a subtle background. What do you think?

I think I like the version we made at the shoebox swap better! Love those blues :) You convinced me to get that blossom punch on the strength of the layered sentiment, I'll have you know! It wasn't even on my wish list for the future, and now, suddenly, I have to have it. Funny how that works.
