When I returned from Founder's Circle a couple of weeks ago (on my birthday), I felt LOVED by many of you!!! I feel like I've been talking about my birthday for a LONG time between birthday lunches with friends, birthday dinners with family, close to 100 birthday wishes on Facebook, and countless other greetings, I feel like I've been celebrating all month. THANK YOU! I promise that this will be the last (I think).
However, I couldn't let another day go by without sharing some of the handstamped cards I received on my birthday!
This first card was made by a fellow demonstrator and member of my stamping group, Lynn. I didn't know Lynn before stamping. She stumbled across my website a couple of years ago, introduced me to a half dozen of her favorite stamping friends, attended a couple of classes, and quickly became a demonstrator herself! I like how her layers are left-justified. And there's a lot of detail that this picture doesn't show. She's paper pierced around a couple of the circles. The black circles are actually heat-embossed and then colored. So, I give up - where are those flowers from??? I'm fairly certain they are from a SU stamp set!!!
This second card was created by one of Lynn's (and now my) stamping friends, Kate! I don't see Kate that much any more. She's moved on to a new demonstrator (Lynn) - and that's okay - except that I don't get to stamp with her! I love this card!!! I never would have thought to line up a bunch of Word Window Punches across a card like that!!! What a fabulous use for scraps! Behind the punches is an embossed layer as well with that basket-weave-looking embossing folder (I can never remember the name of it).
One of my friends-turned-demonstrator, Elaine, made me this next card! Elaine is one of my favorite demonstrators. When she signed up, she told me, "I'll sign up as long as I don't have to talk to anyone!" That was about a year ago...and I don't think she's talked to many people since. But, she does make invitations and favors for friends and co-workers. And, she was a HUGE help when it came to making my wedding items! She knows me well since this card is brown and blue! And, she must LOVE me lots, too, because this card is square and cost extra to send!!!
One of my newer stamping friends, April, made this fourth card. I met April at a local church group where we stamp cards each month. She was INSTANTLY hooked on stamping! She loves color and bling. Her energy is contagious. I feel lucky to know her! And, I feel lucky that I could recruit her into helping me finish up my swap cards for Baltimore (I'm typing this post last Wednesday) 'cause technically when you read this, I will be in Baltimore! Check back - I'll probably blog about it sometime this week!
And, finally, the last card I received on my birthday wasn't really a birthday card! It was a Thank You card from one of my customers - but it was still a gift to receive a handstamped card so I'm sharing it too! It was made Heather who I've been stamping with for about 9 months now! We stamp together just about every month and she ALWAYS makes sure she's got another party on my calendar before I leave her house! This card screams Heather because of it's rounded corners! I know that I MUST pack a corner-rounder whenever I stamp with her even if my projects don't call for rounded-corners!
Wow all those look REALLY nice! I hope to get a little better. I'm sure hanging out with you though will rub off =) Soon i'll have layers and layers on my cards and projects! Have fun!
