A couple of weeks ago I read a post somewhere on one of the online forums that last year's Chocolate Bunny stamp is going for $40 on eBay. THAT'S JUST CRAZY!!! That stamp originally cost less than $10! Granted, if most people are like me, they're not parting with theirs either which is probably why it's so expensive. But, why on earth would you spend that kind of money when you can download the Chocolate Bunny for MDS for only $1.95!!! And you don't even have to pay shipping!!! And if you wanted to use him on a traditional card, you could simply print him out on your home computer and cut him out!!! Don't go to eBay!!! That's one of the reasons I love MDS - the images don't retire!
I created this card based upon a card that everyone loved last year. The card was made by the fabulous Di Gibbs! It was a swap I received from her at Leadership and cased several times for my spring workshops. So, when I saw the topic of an Easter Card over on Utah Divas International, I knew I had to use this little guy! Want to see what everyone else made? Pop on over and check it out!
So, you may be wondering how I bit off their ears! Well, the same way I did with paper! I used the Scallop Circle Punch. But, here's where it got tricky. I softened the Baja Breeze layer by adjusting the Opacity level to 40% on Baja Breeze. But, when you do that with the punches, the bunny shows through! So, instead of playing with the Opacity for the punches, I simply color matched the punches to the softened Baja Breeze! Voila! I hope you and your family had a very happy Resurection Sunday!
I love this. I have seen something similar on a traditional card but would not have thought to reproduce it with MDS! Great idea and nice job on the challenge!
