Last week my downline members gathered together for our monthly gathering. We meet on the second floor of a local market. Each month we learn a couple of new techniques, we make a fun project, and share inspiration. This month's techniques were Faux Suede and Poppin' Pastels. In addition to those activities, we also swap cards. And, one card is declared the swap contest winner. I'm embarrased to say that I don't remember who won! But, everyone agreed that this month was TOUGH. All of the cards were amazing! I'm a big sad that no one voted for mine! You've actually already seen mine in this post.
Here are all of the cards (shown in alphabetical order by demonstrator):
This one was created by Darlene. It looks extremely labor intensive to me! I love her color combo! I believe that's Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade. I don't think I can really begin to list all of the things she did to make this card! There's a variety of embossing, layering, and embellishing!
This next card was made by Dawn. I love how she used Gently Falling but didn't use the "second", solid stamp. Instead she sponged and colored the outlines. Great idea!
This next card was made by Hallie. It's a lovely card. Hallie is a natural watercolor. I love her cards. She used some tips she learned from Karen Barber when making this card. She outlined the floral image with Sahara Sand and added some highlights with her white gel pen.
This next card was made by Jane. She use the A la Carte stamp set, Elebration. What an adorable set. I don't think I even own it! She added tons of details using dazzling diamonds on the balloon and cake. She used a variety of punches. And, I love the way she trimmed the corners of the focal point.
This next card was created by Lynn. It's also a gorgeous card. I don't think I would have ever guessed it was Lynn's card. It's not her typical style. Don't get me wrong, I love Lynn's cards, but this one is different. She used her clear blocks to "stamp" the color blocks behind the flower. I've tried this technique but have never actually made a card with it. She makes me want to give it another try!
