Today I'm focusing on page 26 of the Holiday Catalog and using the Monster Munchies stamp set. It's perfect for Halloween Parties! I don't know about you, but I'm starting to love Halloween - it's another excuse to host a fabulous bash - and make LOTS of food! I grew up in an area where we were lucky to get four Trick-or-Treaters and two of those were my brother and I! I moved into town when I purchased my house eight years ago. My first Halloween I purchased what I thought was quite a bit of candy - but ran out early and had to make an emergency run to the store for more! We now keep count! Last year we had 248 kids who stopped by! It's a great social event! We sit on our front porch and hand out candy - it's pointless to sit inside and wait for the doorbell! I'm still the only one on the family who gets lots of kids so I've started to invite everyone to my house to help! Since I've gotten married, it's turned into a rather large gathering. A few years back I started making Chicken Pot Pie for everyone. But, last year I baked, too, inviting friends to stop by! I've already been scoping out decor for this year. (I actually started in August.)
These are two of the pictures I found on my phone from last year! You'll probably recognize some retired SU products in there! I just LOVE those white pumpkins! Behind them are some of the apothecary jars I fill with back-up candy!!! The other picture shows some of the treats I served. There was more in the kitchen.
But I should probably share about that first picture up there! I had some fun making the treat bag (I won't be making 248 of those)! I used one of the glassine bags that come in the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit and ran it through my Big Shot using the Spider Web Embossing folder. A super-cute extra touch! I made a tag for my bag using the Monster Munchies Stamp set, my Simply Scored Tool, and some DSP. I used some of that 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon that is on the same page. Cute bag, huh? I also made a simple "love note" to accompany the treat bag. I felt like I was sorta cheating by only using the one image from the stamp set!
