On Tuesday I posted that I was going to challenge myself to create something using every product in the Holiday Catalog. Today is my first of maybe 40 or so posts in this series. This challenge serves a bunch of different purposes:
A) I haven't scheduled my Annual Holiday Open House (yet) - so for now, we'll do it virtually. I'll be sharing some original creations, some CASEd creations, and some swaps I've received. And, that's pretty much what I'd have on display at a real, live Open House. And, once I get through this challenge, I'll have even more projects to display whenever I do get it scheduled!
B) I overlooked MANY of the products in the Holiday Catalog when I was placing my first order - the new, Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad, the Stampin' Dazzle Markers (they write on dark card stock!), Champagne Glimmer Paper, and the 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon just to name a few. Have you spotted all of those?
C) I think it would be beneficial to actually USE the products I buy! (Silly, I know!)
D) I LOVE a challenge!
I sat down to start my challenge at the beginning of the catalog. I actually already had a project created using some of the products. I was excited that the first post could be SO easy! Then I realized that it was a logistical mistake. If I stamp a page a night, I wouldn't get to Halloween products until the middle of October since they don't really start until page 24! That's just too late for you to order them when you fall in love! So, I'll be hopping around a bit. My plan is to work through Halloween, then fall, the hit Christmas. I don't own the Jewish Celebrations stamp set - and I'm not sure if I received a swap so that one could be a challenge!
Today's projects are both swaps I received at convention. They're very similar so I decided to post them both!!! Okay, you may be thinking that I've already failed my own challenge - that I didn't actually USE any of the products since I didn't actually create either project. I actually have - I CASEd Ilina's card for a stamp club last month, but thought I'd post the original (it saves time since I don't know where mine went). And, I've already used each and every product pictured tonight. So, I haven't failed...yet!
