Last night was my final stamp club of the year. I've been stamping with this club every month for several years now! They've become wonderful friends. Each month a different member of the club is our hostess - she gets the free goodies. I also let the hostess dictate what we're making (but I do reserve the right to overrule). This month's hostess was pretty specific. She had spotted a couple of cards over on Patty Bennett's blog from earlier this month and she asked to make them and a "frameable" project that could feature a photo.
Today's project is the first card Annemarie liked. I changed it up a bit. You probably can't tell in the photo, but I "painted" the white embossed cardstock with Frost White Shimmer Paint using a sponge dauber. It added an extra (subtle) shimmery effect to the card. Patty's card also featured a punched mitten. Since the second card Annemarie requested also featured the mitten, I replaced the mitten with one of the clear faceted buttons and adhered a large pearl in the center. Finally, I cannot believe there's only a little over a month left to use the sweater trim!!! I keep saving it "just in case". I know I'm not the only one who does that. Well, if I don't use it, I'll have several brand new rolls of retired ribbon for my next yard sale! I'd rather use it. Now, I'm not saying that I know anything about what's carrying over and what's not carrying over from the Holiday Catalog, but I think it's a pretty safe bet to assume the sweater trim isn't carrying over - "specialty" ribbons like that rarely do. So, stock up now! It comes in Whisper White (129937), Gumball Green (127838), and Cherry Cobbler (129938).
