It's absolutely true, each and everyone one of you who have sent me a handmade card has brightened my day. I hope you all realize the impact that you have - whether it's a silly simple design or the most elaborate creation you've ever made, I've enjoyed each and every card you've sent this season. It just reminds me how important it is to send them!
Every day when I walk to the mailbox, I find myself holding my breath. I've been enjoying the streak of receiving a handmade card each and every day for the last week or so. I don't want the streak to end! And, I want to pass that joy along to you! That's why it's one of many resolutions I have for the new year (but I actually started last month)! I aim to go broke because I buy too many postage stamps! Seriously! Anyway....enough rambling....maybe I should have blogged BEFORE drinking the wine. By the way, I know this post appeared on my blog on Sunday morning - I typed it last Thursday night after dinner. I don't want you thinking I had wine with my breakfast on Sunday morning!
Today I'm sharing the cards I received last Thursday. It was a FABULOUS mail day. Five Christmas cards - four of which were handstamped. The fifth card is a mystery. I have NO IDEA who it's from. There's no return address. There's no last name inside the card. It was addressed to me (not me and Mike). It was mailed from my geographic area based upon the postmark. And, inside the person thanked me. Maybe for my business? I'm not sure. But, thank you for the beautiful card, Natalie. I'm sorry I don't immediately recognize who you are! I've cross-referenced my Christmas card list and I didn't send anyone named Natalie a card this year. This is gonna bug me. Seriously...I shouldn't have had that wine.
OKAY! The first of today's four cards was sent by Nancy O. Nancy's been a long-time customer who has become a friend. I love the stamped and embossed background. It's so perfectly colored! I also love that she matted the sentiment and the embossed background on black! I would probably have been boring and used the green to match the leaves. But the black is super-sharp!
Next up is the card I received from Kyra. I just love her card. It's so peaceful. She used the retired Dasher stamp and did a whole lot of masking to create the moon and the snowbanks.
The third card is from Mary D and it's SO COOL how she created the wreath out of glimmer paper and Cherry Cobbler seam binding. She cut the wreath from one of the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit Die. Just like Nancy, I love that Mary chose to use Basic Black as her layer. So sharp!
And, last but certainly not least, is a card that I received from Hilary - another member of my downline. I absolutely love how Hilary chose to emboss the purple layer and embellished with dazzling details. Again, I'm so boring and usually emboss white card stock when using that embossing folder.
All the cards are so nice and thank you for sharing, I have trouble thinking how to make a card even all this time later of making them. They are so beautiful. I think we should send you some cards and not sign them or return address them and keep you guessing who made them. Wouldn't that be fun? And you'd need more wine to think better at a relaxed state. LOL
