Have you missed me? I had an incredibly fun and crazy February and obviously didn't get a chance to blog much. Why was it fun and crazy? Several reasons: serious computer issues, my mother had heart surgery, and I GOT A PUPPY! My mother is doing well and is on the mend. I wish I could say the same about my favorite computer. At least that is replaceable (mom is not)! And then there's our new puppy, Baxter.
Mike and I had been looking at puppies for months. We wanted one last fall but realized it wasn't fair to the puppy to go through all of the craziness of the holidays. So, we decided to wait until after the holidays. We looked at several breeds (Basset Hounds, Pugs, French Bulldogs, to name a few). A friend even loaned us a dog encyclopedia! We knew we wanted something on the small side. Our house just isn't roomy enough for a large dog. And, neither of us really like large dogs. Mike didn't want a yappy dog (and honestly, neither did I). And, so many of you urged us to rescue a dog. So, I started searching Petfinder and SPCA websites. One Saturday afternoon we spotted him. He was relatively local (Newark, DE), he was a puppy, he was a small breed (supposedly Lhasa Apso and Chihuahua), and he was just the CUTEST puppy I'd ever seen. I quickly called and made an appointment the next day to meet him. I really couldn't believe we were going to see him. I couldn't believe in 24 hours we could have our puppy. We had NOTHING for a dog. And, Mike wanted to wait - just in case - before buying anything. Well, when the foster mom brought Baxter out, I knew he was ours. He was just the cutest little ball of fur. There was no debating. No discussing. We signed the paperwork and took him home.
After many, many trips to the pet store... After many, many accidents on my favorite Pottery Barn rug (I knew it would happen)... After many sleepless nights....we're finally getting settled in. He sleeps all of the way through most nights. And, he's learned to whine at the door if he needs to go out (let's hope it stays that way)! He loves meeting friends and customers and downline members when they come to visit. I just love him to death!
OKAY...enough about Baxter, I'm sure you're ready to see some cards! I think it's funny that my last post was about my January Downline Meeting (Holiday Party). Today's post features the swaps some of my downline members swapped at February's Downline Meeting last Tuesday!
