I almost forgot to make today's card! One of the members of my Stamp Sorority Team, Ellen, asked if anyone would be willing to make some wedding cards to shower on her son and new daughter-in-law. They're both in the military and have limited living space. She said that a handstamped card would mean SO much. I loved the idea and asked my team to bring along a card to our next meeting that was held last Tuesday.
Well, I'm terrible at making to-do lists. I think I'm Wonder Woman and can remember everything. Ha! I'm sure you can figure out how well that works for me. Well, an hour before I was set to leave the house, I remembered! YAY!!! I was running short on time and didn't have any ideas. But, I had seen a card somewhere and thought it would be quick, but didn't have all of the supplies - so I improvised. I cannot believe that I actually grabbed a WHEEL! Yes! I used the Jumbo Wedding Words Wheel to create the background (it only took 2 tries to get it straight) and cut the "Love" sentiment out of silver foil paper - now available in the Holiday Catalog! BUT, it looked too busy directly on the background. So, I decided to layer some vellum cardstock underneath. Well, you probably know the problem with vellum - adhesive can be a challege. So, I grabbed some ribbon. However, I also wanted to pop the vellum layer up. Here's where I got clever (humor me if you disagree)...I added dimensionals UNDER the ribbon and used a strip of SNAIL to adhere the vellum to the ribbon. You can't see ANY adhesive! And, it makes the vellum pop up! WOO HOO!!!! I added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds to the engagement rings in the background and tied a bow. What do you think? I'm pretty pleased with my last-minute creation.
