Thanks for stopping by! If you arrived here from the hop, you probably know that today's theme is "I Do". This always seems to be a very popular time of year for weddings. So, we thought we'd help you with any wedding projects you may have this season.
The project I created is a gift card holder. Most brides and grooms these day need cash more than anything! I know when my husband and I got married, we both had been living on our own for years and had doubles of everything - we certainly didn't really need a third! So, cash and gift cards were greatly appreciated.
This one was inspired by a project in the upcoming 2014-2015 Annual Catalog. However, it uses all current products. In fact, most of the products have been around for a couple of years now so chances are you have them at home, too!
The picture above is the outside of the gift card holder. I cut the paper to 3" x 11" and then scored at 2" and 6-1/4". In the largest, middle section, I then stamped the images from Daydream Medallions in Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Gold Encore Ink. I added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and hand-cut little flags. I adhered a couple of sequins and added a crepe paper flower cut using the Floral Frames Collection Framelits spritzed with rubbing alcohol and Crisp Cantaloupe reinker.
I've pictured the gift card holder open which shows you one of the ends. I cut both ends with the largest of the Floral Frames Collection Framelits to coordinate with the stamped images. I also stamped the Daydream Medallions in Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Gold Encore ink on the pocket. The pocket was super easy to make. I cut down a Note Card Envelope to 2" and adhered it inside.
To keep the gift card holder closed, I tied some White Baker's Twine around the closed gift card holder and used some of the Gold fibers from the Gold Metallic Baker's Twine. I would have liked to have used the Gold twine, but my gift card holder was white and I wanted it to stay all white.
